Save your voice note before converting

On iPhone

On a computer
Open the conversation in WhatsApp Web or the desktop app. Use the message menu to download the audio, then choose it from your Downloads folder. Upload the audio file itself, not a chat export ZIP.
Which MP3 quality should I choose?
Start with 128 kbps for voice. Open More options for 64 kbps to reduce the MP3 size, or 192 kbps for a higher bitrate. Converting cannot restore detail missing from the original recording. MP3 may be larger than an efficient OPUS file.
If the file does not convert
Check that the audio has finished downloading and plays in WhatsApp. Select the actual audio, not a shortcut, text file or ZIP. Renaming an extension does not convert a file. If an error appears, try saving the original again and retry the conversion.
